Service Portal Fundamentals is a two-day instructor-led course designed for professionals who want to build and customize Service Portals on the ServiceNow platform.
The course covers the full Service Portal application, from configuring existing portals to building new ones from scratch. Through a combination of demos, lectures, group discussions, and hands-on labs, participants work in their own student instance to create portals, themes, pages, menus, and widgets that deliver a consistent and intuitive user experience.
This course is designed for low-code System Administrators and Web Designers or Developers who want to create Service Portals that offer users a consistent, intuitive, and delightful experience when accessing their organization’s services online.

Upon completing this course, learners are eligible to enroll in the Service Portal Micro-Certification exam on ServiceNow University. The exam is open book, non-proctored, and available online. It contains fewer than 25 questions and allows 60 minutes for completion.
#1. What experience do I need before taking this course?
Learners should have completed ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals and have at least 6 months of hands-on administration experience on the platform.
#2. Do I need scripting or coding skills to attend?
Not necessarily. All scripts are provided during lab exercises. However, a basic understanding of Scripting in ServiceNow, AngularJS, Bootstrap, CSS, and HTML will help participants work through the labs more comfortably.
#3. Will I get hands-on practice building a Service Portal?
Yes. Lab exercises are woven throughout the course and walk participants through building their own Service Portal from scratch in a dedicated student instance.
#4. Does this course lead to a certification?
Yes. Upon completing the course, learners can enroll in the Service Portal Micro-Certification exam on ServiceNow University, which is an open book, non-proctored online exam with fewer than 25 questions and a 60-minute time limit.
