Software Asset Management (SAM) Professional Fundamentals

Software Asset Management Professional Fundamentals is a three-day instructor-led course designed for professionals who implement and administer software assets on the ServiceNow platform.

The course introduces the ServiceNow Software Asset Management Professional application, focusing on building an effective SAM practice from the ground up. Through lectures, demonstrations, structured discussions, and extensive hands-on labs, participants work in their own student instance to manage software licenses, track compliance, and optimize software usage across the asset lifecycle. On the third day, learners can also access an optional SAM simulation environment to validate their end-to-end understanding of the application.

 Learners should have:

• Basic familiarity with the ServiceNow application
• Completed Welcome to ServiceNow, especially if they are new to ServiceNow
• Completed ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals or have equivalent ServiceNow experience
• Completed Platform Analytics Overview, a free self-paced on-demand course, if they are new to Platform Analytics

Advanced ServiceNow experience is not required.

Learners should have completed Welcome to ServiceNow and ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals, either as instructor-led or on-demand courses. These prerequisites provide the platform familiarity needed to engage with course content from day one.

Yes. Extensive hands-on labs are included in every module, and learners work in their own student instance throughout all three days. An optional simulation environment is also available on the third day to help validate end-to-end lifecycle comprehension.

Yes. Upon completing this course, learners receive a voucher to take the ServiceNow Certified Software Asset Management Implementer exam through the Pearson VUE platform.
