Palo Alto Training Credits How to Redeem and Pick Courses

Have Palo Alto Training Credits? Here’s How to Redeem Them and How Many Credits Each Course Takes

In this article:

Have you been given Palo Alto Networks training credits by your organization and now you are trying to figure out what to actually do with them?

If yes, you are in the right place. You get the general idea that the credits can help you upskill with Palo alto’s network and cybersecurity courses.

However, you want a no-nonsense answer guide to questions like:

  • Where do you redeem the credits?
  • Which courses are covered?
  • How many credits does each course actually take?
  • Can you allocate these credits across multiple employees?

If yes, this guide is built for that exact moment. It gives you a clear view of how Palo Alto training credits work and which Palo Alto courses you can apply them to. Most importantly, it includes a course-wise breakdown and the exact training credits required for each course.

Let’s dig in.

Palo Alto Training Credits, Explained Simply

Palo Alto Networks Training Credits are a prepaid way to pay for Palo Alto training throughout the year. Instead of raising a new purchase request every time someone needs a course, organizations can buy credits once and then redeem them as training needs come up.

Here’s everything you need to know:

  • Each credit equals USD 100.
  • Validity: Credits must be redeemed within 12 months (365 days) from the sale date.
  • Who can use them: All employees within the organization can use the same pool of credits.
  • Where they can be used: Through Authorized Training Partners, for open enrollment, private group or on-site training, and live virtual instructor-led courses.
  • What they can cover: Authorized Palo Alto Networks training and technical certification exam vouchers.

Once you have the Training Credit ID, credits are verified during registration and the remaining balance can be tracked across the year.

How to Redeem Palo Alto Training Credits

Redeeming Palo Alto training credits is a simple four step process. This involves an Authorized Training Partner(ATP) with whom you register for a course, based on your location.

You can find a list of all Palo Alto authorized training partners here.

Here’s how the process looks like, once you choose your ATP:

Step 1: You can pick the course from Palo Alto schedule page and contact the relevant ATP to request a seat. You could inform them that you will be using Training Credits as the payment method.

Step 2: The ATP checks your Training Credit ID and validates your available balance with the Palo Alto Networks Training Credits Administrator. If credits are available, the required amount is reserved for your registration.

Step 3: The ATP confirms your seat in the class and accepts training credits as payment.

Step 4: You attend the training. After completion, the ATP confirms delivery and the reserved credits are permanently deducted from your balance.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do Palo Alto training credits cover certification exam vouchers too, or only training courses?

Palo Alto training credits can be used for more than instructor-led courses. They may also be used to purchase Palo Alto Networks technical certification exam vouchers through participating Authorized Training Partners. The certification exams themselves are delivered through Pearson VUE, either at a testing center or via OnVUE. If certification is your goal, you can plan the course and exam voucher together so credits are allocated correctly.

2. Can Datacipher help me choose the right course track if I am not sure what to take?

Yes. If you are unsure which Palo Alto course to pick, we can help you map the right training path based on your current role, your production environment, and what you need to do on the job. For example, firewall administrators typically start with firewall essentials, while SOC teams may prioritize Cortex-focused tracks. You can share your context and we will recommend a clean course sequence.

3. What training formats can I take with Datacipher when paying via training credits?

With Datacipher, Palo Alto training credits can be used for eligible instructor-led formats, including private sessions, live virtual training and other instructor-led delivery options, depending on your requirement and scheduling. This works well for individuals who want a fixed calendar session, and also for teams that want a coordinated rollout. Once you share the course and seat count, we can confirm the best format options available.

4. Can we schedule private team training using Palo Alto training credits, or is it only open enrollment?

Yes, training credits can be redeemed for private training arranged for a group, including customized delivery, depending on what you schedule with the Authorized Training Partner. If you are planning for multiple employees, private training can be the most efficient way to align timelines, standardize learning outcomes, and reduce scheduling friction across the team.

5. What should I share with Datacipher to get a training plan and confirmed dates quickly?

To move fast, you can share four things. The course name or short list of courses you want, the number of learners, your preferred delivery format such as live virtual or private training, and your target time window. If you do not know the course yet, share the role and your current Palo Alto deployment area. With this, we can propose a clean plan and available dates without unnecessary back and forth.

You’re all set!
